Harbhajan Singh also retweeted some of the those tweets as Shastri continues to face the hear following India's Test series loss vs England.

"Last three years, we won nine matches overseas and three series. I can't see any other Indian team in the last 15-20 years who've had that kind of run in such a short time. And you've had some great players in those series, said India head coach Ravi Shastri during the press conference on Wednesday. (Photo: AP)

London: "Last three years, we won nine matches overseas and three series. I can’t see any other Indian team in the last 15-20 years who’ve had that kind of run in such a short time. And you’ve had some great players in those series," said India head coach Ravi Shastri, on Wednesday, ahead of the fifth and final Test against England.

While the Indian cricket team fans and experts were not too pleased with the side’s series defeat, with some fans asking BCCI to sack Shastri as India coach, Shastri’s comment, on Wednesday, irked many.

The nine wins that Shastri spoke about were in Sri Lanka (5), West Indies (2), South Africa (1) and England (1) and three series wins were in Sri Lanka (2) and West Indies (1).

Some of the Twitter users made it clear that Shastri undermined the achievements of the previous Indian teams and the captains such as Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble and MS Dhoni amongst others.

Harbhajan Singh, who had recently criticised the Indian team for their performance in England, retweeted these three tweets.
