Birmingham: The Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket team missed out on a chance to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series after losing the Edgbaston Test against the Joe Root-led England side.
Kohli, the batsman, meanwhile, shone bright as he scored his first Test ton in England. In fact, the Indian skipper went on to score nearly 45 per cent of his team’s runs, with the scores of 149 and 51 in the first and second innings respectively in Birmingham. However, Kohli’s mic-drop celebration following Root’s run-out in the England’s first innings did not go down well with some English fans and the Indian skipper was booed as he walked in to bat on Day 2 of the first Test. While Kohli’s batting heroics on the same day were met with applause at the ground, some of the England cricket team fans poked Kohli and taunted the Indian team, dancing before the team bus following the conclusion of the match.
A video has gone viral, showing the England cricket team fans mocking the team and singing, “Where is your Virat Kohli gone”.
