How Rohit Sharma almost missed his flight to England, reveals Dinesh Karthik
Mumbai: India batsman Dinesh Karthik is becoming an integral part of the national set-up leading up to the ICC Cricket World Cup in England next year.
Karthik is currently in England with the long full-fledged tour getting underway on Tuesday as India clinched an eight-wicket win.
Ina recent show with Gaurav Kapur in his programme Breakfast with Champions, the Tamil Nadu cricketer revealed how his fellow teammate Rohit Sharma almost missed the flight to England.
“We all assembled in Delhi and were supposed to leave for UK. Our man (Rohit) came chilled, having forgotten his passport back in Mumbai. It got delivered to him just in time, else he would've been left behind," said Karthik.
The 33-year-old, though, admitted that he himself tends to forget at times.
That's one of the things I want to change about myself. Supposed you're talking to me, I'll just get lost and that sometimes comes across as rude. A lot of times I switch on my phone to do something, but by the time it opens I forget what I wanted to do," said the right-handed batsman.
Soon, Rohit Sharma also got involved in the conversation, jokingly saying that they ‘make stories about him’.
"Everyone forgets their passport but these guys just make stories about me,” said the Mumbai batsman.
Karthik, meanwhile, further spoke about his friendship with Rohit. "We've had some great times together. We tend to give each other the choicest abuses, making people around us wonder what's wrong. But Rohit's a great guy and I love hanging out with him,” he said.
Virat Kohli’s men will take on England in the second T20I in Cardiff later on Friday.
