Sachin Tendulkar son gives injury scare to Jonny Bairstow

The England wicket keeper batsman was pinned on the foot by a yorker from Arjun Tendulkar.

London: England cricket team heaved a sigh of relief ahead of their first Test against South Africa at Lord’s on Thursday, after Jonny Bairstow suffered an unexpected injury scare in the nets.

According to a report in Daily Mail the 27-year-old wicket-keeper batsman was pinned on the foot by a yorker from Arjun Tendulkar, son of Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar.

Arjun had previously bowled in England as well and received praise for his effort. After being struck by the very first delivery from 17-year-old, Bairstow hobbled out of the nets.

Bairstow's left foot was briefly placed in a compression unit to ease the pain during the training session at Lord's on Wednesday morning. The injury proved to be merely a knock, which means England's wicketkeeper is in no danger of missing the Test.
