Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is a marketing genius. When the ICC World Twenty20 dominated the proceedings, Khan chose not to speak a word about Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) – his IPL team, but a day after the final, he sent out a message for the KKR fans.
He put his iconic voice into use and dramatically shot a video saying: “ Yeh maidan mera hai, yeh aasman bhi, yeh jung meri hai” (this field is mine, the sky is mine and the fight is mine too).”
The video, aesthetically shot, captures the mood of Kolkata with the lush green maidan, trams and kids going to their cricket academy with pads in hand, wearing the purple KKR jersey.
“Main hoon toh hum hai, hum hai toh jeet hai (I am there, hence, we are there, we are there so victory is there),” concludes the message in the video.
In the end, Khan (in Bengali) says: “Ami KKR.”
