KL Rahul will open the Indian innings in Mumbai in the fourth Test after fully recovering from a finger injury.

Mumbai: Indian batsman KL Rahul, who missed the Mohali Test against England due to an injury, has been declared fit.

According to Sportskeeda, the batsman will open the Indian innings in Mumbai in the fourth Test after fully recovering from a finger injury.

Rahul’s return means Parthiv Patel, who opened the innings in Mohali, will now be playing in the middle order. Karun Nair is expected to make way for Parthiv.

Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli has already made it clear that Rahul is India’s first choice opener, and will walk into the team whenever he’s fit.

Rahul also missed the first India-England Test in Rajkot due to a hamstring injury. Gautam Gambhir played the first Test in place of Rahul.
