VVS Laxman bats for Hyderabad's cricketers

Laxman said the ongoing tussle at the HCA offices was taken up at the meeting.

Hyderabad: All apprehensions concerning the future of the current Hyderabad teams have been resolved amicably, the Steering Committee nominated by the Cricket Players Association of Hyderabad comprising VVS Laxman, Vidya Yadav and Rajini Venugopal announced.

The players panel had a constructive meeting with all the elected members of the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s Apex Council — vice-president Anil Kumar, secretary T. Sheshnarayan, treasurer P. Mahender, joint secretary Ajmal Asad and Councillor Hanumanthu — present at the table.

Laxman said the ongoing tussle at the HCA offices was taken up at the meeting. “It was great to see all the members of the Apex Council come together to the meeting. They agreed to resolve their differences and work together as one team for the betterment of Hyderabad cricket,” he said.

“They also held out the assurance that the selection committees, coaches and support staff for various HCA teams, men and women, will be announced shortly in keeping with the rules so that there is no hindrance for the players to participate in the upcoming domestic season,” Laxman added.

“It was agreed at the meeting that the remaining Apex Council members would formalise the composition of the selection committees, coaches and support staff for various teams,” Laxman said.
