Nellore: Former Indian Cricket captain Kapil Dev received a rousing reception at Krishnapatnam Port on Friday. The Managing Director of Krishnapatnam Port Company Ltd, C. Sasidhar, and Chief Executive Officer Anil Kumar Yendluri received cricketer when he landed at the port on Friday. The pace bowler planted saplings at the port and visited the public school run by KPCL for deprived sections of society.
After seeing the classrooms, science and computer labs and playground, he praised the CVR Foundation (an offspring of KPCL) for the facilities at the school. Both students and employees vied with each other to take photos with the great cricketer. Kapil Dev also witnessed the hectic activity at the port and an exhibition. Impressed with the Golf Court at the Port, the cricketer played golf with senior KPCL officials for a while.
Speaking on the occasion, Kapil Dev said job opportunities would increase for people living in Nellore because of the Port and congratulated the management for taking up tree plantation in a big way. KPCL PRO G. Venugopal was also present.
