Thakur Tilak Varma, Bhavesh Seth hit centuries

Charan, Ravinder also reach triple figures; Anirudh picks a five-for.

Hyderabad: Thakur Tilak Varma, Bhavesh Seth, M.S.R. Charan and Ravinder played brilliantly to score centuries while Deccan Chronicle’s T. P. Anirudh was the only bowler to take a five-wicket haul on the second day of the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s three-day league matches played on Wednesday.

In the match against EMCC, Sporting XI’s Bhavesh played a composed 113-run knock from one end when his teammates continued to fall cheaply. Bhavesh’s 282-ball stint, which comprised 11 fours and a six, boosted Sporting to 207/9 at stumps in reply to EMCC’s 267. Vignesh Agarwal picked 3 for 26 for EMCC.
In another match, Income Tax finished the day’s play at 279 for 5 in 93.2 overs after wrapping SBI’s innings for 391 on Tuesday.

Resuming at their overnight score of 14 for 1, Income Tax’s Charan played a sensible innings of 111 — 192b, 4x13, 6x2 — and was well supported by Vamshi Vardhan Reddy (60) and Shadaab Tumbi (54).

Meanwhile, Gemini Friends finished the day’s play at 275 for 8 in 93 overs, a lead of 18 over MP Colts. Tilak Varma stood tall for the Gemini side by scoring an unbeaten 129 off 289 with the use of 17 fours and a six.

Deccan Chronicle’s Anirudh bowled some brilliant spells and picked five wickets while giving away just 27 runs to bowl out Andhra Bank for a lowly total of 73 runs. M. Prudhvi supported by claiming 3 for 37.

Beginning their second essay with a lead of 177, Chronicle added 152 runs for the loss of seven wickets at stumps to increase their lead to 329. Meanwhile Ravinder, with his unbeaten 104, helped Hyderabad Bottling to finish the day’s play at 313 for 5 against Indian Cements. Bottling now lead India Cements by 15 runs.
