Hyderabad: J. Vinay Goud, P.S. Chaitanya Reddy and S. Naveen Kumar, all from the Gouds XI team, hogged the limelight in the top division matches of the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s league here. Vinay and Chaitanya scored unbeaten double centuries while mediumpacer Naveen ran through the Bharat Dynamics Limited batting line up as Gouds registered a thumping innings and 289-run victory in their three-day game.
Right-hander Vinay slammed 17 boundaries and eight sixes in his 190-ball knock of 209 while left-hand bat Chaitanya hit 18 fours and two sixes in his 201 that came off 174 balls as Gouds XI declared their first innings at a mammoth 434 for 1. Naveen then took over, and ripped the heart out of BDL. He snared 6 wickets while conceding 29 runs as BDL declared at 67 for 9. Then, following on, BDL folded for a paltry 78 to suffer a humiliating loss.
Hussain, Bharath, Fatima best in two-day league: The second rung two-day league threw up three performers. Syed Askari Abedi Hussain smashed a century (111) in Green Turf’s 262 even as leg-spinner Bharath Bharadwaj took 5 for 99 for Sportive CC. Y. Fatima Reddy also got a five-wicket haul. The left-arm spinner returned with figures of 5 for 70 for Telangana CC against Future Stars.
