Harsh Goenka's tweet omitting MS Dhoni from his list of RPS heroes irks Dhoni fans
Mumbai: Harsh Goenka, brother of Rising Pune Supergiant’s owner Sanjeev Goenka, invited criticism from MS Dhoni supporters following his tweet after RPS’ win against Gautam Gambhir-led Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday.
However, this is not the first time though when Harsh Goenka has come under fire from the fans of India’s World Cup-winning skipper.
Dhoni fans were not pleased with Dhoni's unceremonious sacking as RPS skipper ahead of IPL 2017 and Goenka's tweet, after Smith guided RPS to a victory in their opening game against Mumbai Indians this season, did not help the matters either.
While he deleted the tweet subsequently, it did not please Dhoni fans one bit.
While Dhoni has not said a word against Harsh Goenka, Dhoni's wife Sakshi, went on to post a couple of cryptic messages via her Instagram.
To his credit, Goenka did praise Dhoni after his 34-ball 61-run knock powered RPS to last-ball win.
However, Dhoni fans lashed out at Goenka as he praised the likes of Ben Stokes, Steve Smith, Rahul Tripathi, Imran Tahir amongst others, who have played a key role in RPS' rise but did not mention Dhoni in his tweet.
