Yogeshwar Dutt's salary more than MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli

Mumbai: An interesting survey has revealed that ace Indian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt earns more salary per minute as compared to the likes of star Team India cricketers Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

According to a report in a leading national daily, the recently released Indian sports salaries of players and athletes has revealed some intriguing facts. Olympic bronze medallist Dutt tops the list among Indians, earning Rs 1.65 lakh per minute during his 2015 Pro Wrestling League stint.

Despite their widespread popularity, Kohli and Dhoni earn Rs 75,000 per minute according to the survey.

A total sum of Rs 823 crore was paid out by franchises across eight different sports leagues. The survey also brought to the fore a major lacunae that exists between domestic and foreign players. Domestic players earn Rs 296 crore via salaries in comparison to foreign players who earn around Rs 527 crore.

International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) has the highest average salary of Rs 5.5 crore per player followed by the Indian Premier League (IPL). A total of 169 cricketers bagged IPL’s total salary amount at Rs 419.5 crore.

The study further adds that tennis legends Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are the highest earning players with Rs 26 crore each for playing in the IPTL.
