Sushant Singh Rajput pays tribute to MS Dhoni on quitting captaincy
Mumbai: Mahendra Singh Dhoni sprang another surprise on Wednesday as he decided to step down as India’s ODI and T20I skipper.
Dhoni, India’s most successful captain will remain available for limited overs cricket. The 35-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman led India to 2007 ICC T20 World Cup and 2011 ICC ODI World Cup. India also achieved the top of Test rankings in 2009 under his leadership.
Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who played the role of Dhoni in his biopic MS Dhoni: The Untold Story was also shocked at the news. The actor took to Twitter to pay tribute to the cricketer.
Speaking to DNA, Sushant also said, “No I don’t know the reason and I am really saddened by the news. Knowing him we can say that it must be a wise decision and it also explains why he is one of the best leaders we have had. He doesn’t share his personal stuff with anyone, the nation and the team always comes first for him. I’m gonna miss him dearly as the captain of Indian cricket team.”
