MS Dhoni steps down as India's ODI, T20 skipper, Yograj Singh gets trolled
Mumbai: While the social media erupted and paid tributes to MS Dhoni after he stepped down as India’s ODI and T20 skipper, some posts also took a dig at Yograj Singh, star Indian cricketer and country's World Cup-winning hero Yuvraj Singh’s father.
While Yuvraj and Dhoni have always maintained that they share a warm relationship – Dhoni in fact, was also present at the Yuvraj-Hazel Keech marriage reception with wife Sakshi Dhoni – and have also spoken about each other with respect, Yograj has time and again slammed Dhoni and blamed him for Yuvraj’s absence from Team India.
After Dhoni hanged his boots as Team India’s ODI and T20 skipper, Twitterati poked fun at Yograj.
In 2015, Yograj had lashed out as Dhoni and threatened to slap him. In an interview to a Hindi news channel, Yograj had said: "I would have slapped Dhoni, had I been a journalist. There was a time when he was nothing but today he sits before the media and rips them apart. He laughs at media people who gave him so much hype and laughs at those who cheer him when he scores runs.”
Yograj had also said that Dhoni would suffer the same fate as that of Raavana.
The former India cricketer-turned-movie star had once again taken on Dhoni after India beat Pakistan in World Cup 2015. So much so that Yuvraj had to clarify his position saying that he had always enjoyed playing under Dhoni.
