A field day' on the cards

Sachin Baby's wedding teaser has the couple in the RCB colours on a cricket field.

Today is the big day for cricketer Sachin Baby. The Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman is all set to tie the knot with his sweetheart Anna Chandy at St. Sebastian’s Church in Thodupuzha. A BDS graduate, Anna and Sachin have been dating since 2014.

This wedding is the interest point of many, as their ‘Save The Date’ wedding teaser was one of a kind. Even as ‘Save The Date’ messages have taken ingenious forms in the last one year or so, professional video agencies are taking their creative mantle to a new plane. Talk of the town, Sachin and Anna’s wedding teaser was presented in a dramatic fashion with the couple donning the RCB colours on a cricket field.

In the one minute 48 seconds video, the first bit shows the preparations of Sachin in the locker room. Then he moves to the ground, where Anna is preparing to bowl. Sachin is seen taking his guard before Anna hits his off-stump, like a twist in the tale. Then they announce their wedding date with the trademark trumpet sound of the IPL in the background and are flat out on the field in complete Bollywood style. The video is done by Akhil Shan and his team. “Since it is Sachin Baby, we proposed this idea of presenting their wedding date in cricket style. Initially, we thought we will do the shoot in scenic spots. But later we got permission to do it in the stadium. It became a success. We got shares even from the Royal Challengers Bangalore team members,” says Akhil. Everything was decided in less than two weeks. The video had more than 8.5 lakh views in less than one week and according to Sachin, they are hopeful of the views crossing 10 lakhs.
