India showcased a phenomenal outing on the field at Edgbaston, but a fielding lapse by Mohammed Shami left skipper Virat Kohli fuming.

The incident happened during the third delivery of 27th over, bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Litton Das. Das played the length delivery towards the mid-off region.

Das judged the run to perfection and completed a quick single. Jasprit Bumrah, who was fielding at mid-off region sensed a run-out opportunity attempted for a direct hit at the stumps.

But, since there was no fielder to back-up, Litton went for a second run on the overthrow towards the third-man region.

Shami, who was stationed at the third-man region was not able to gather the ball successfully. Shami's fumble caused skipper Virat Kohli to fume at the pacer. The camera captured an impulsive Kohli blasting Shami for his poor fielding effort. As seen in the video, Kohli even asked Shami to wake up.
