Mumbai: Prithvi Shaw has been ruled out of the one-day leg of India A's tour of West Indies beginning on July 1.

The nature of his injury is still unknown, but the 19-year-old is currently going rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

Prithvi Shaw's injury has opened the door of Maharashtra's opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, who had performed phenomenally for India A during their home series against Sri Lanka A in June.

The 22-year-old scored 470 runs in four innings, including the highest knock of 187 not out.

Gaikwad will be a part of India A which will begin their tour next week. Also, the tour will consist of five one-day fixtures.

Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal have been called up for the ICC World Cup 2019. Hence, Anmolpreet Singh and Ishan Kishan have now been added to the 15-member squad, which is currently at NCA for their fitness assessment.

Manish Pandey will be leading the India A side and Ishan Kishan will be keeping the wickets. Shubhman Gill and Khaleel Ahmed are considered are exciting prospects ahead of the series.

Here's India A's 16-man squad for the West Indies A tour:

Manish Pandey (capt), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Anmolpreet Singh, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Hanuma Vihari, Ishan Kishan (WK), Rahul Chahar, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Krunal Pandya, Deepak Chahar, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, Navdeep Saini
