Divine releases anthem ahead of India vs South Africa world cup clash

The video also features several athletes like Olympic Gold medialist and six-time world champion Mary Kom.

Mumbai: Indian hip hop star, Mumbai-based Vivian Fernandes, better known by his stage name DIVINE, teamed up with Puma and released the Sock Them anthem online, ahead of the India-South Africa clash on Wednesday. The match will be India’s opener in the World Cup campaign.

The anthem takes inspiration from skipper Virat Kohli’s recent bat-and-glove celebration he performed against Australia on completing a century in a test fixture during India’s tour of Austalia.

Featuring Kohli himself along with many young fans in the country, the music video’s take on Kohli’s celebration further amplifies the fact that players should let their performance on the pitch do the talking for them.

The video also features several athletes like Olympic Gold medalist and six-time world champion Mary Kom, footballers Rahul Bheke, and Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem and Indian cricketer Sushma Verma.

The Hip-hop vibe of the video is completed with the recently crowned World of Dance champions dance crew, Kings United.
