I still don't believe what happened, says Eoin Morgan
Kolkata: Carlos Brathwaite’s last over heroics crushed England in the ICC World Twenty20 final here at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. The Caribbean smashed four sixes in a row to literally snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. English skipper Eoin Morgan is still in a state of shock.
“I am not sure what I am feeling at the moment. I still don’t believe what happened,” he said after the four-wicket loss to West Indies.
“It is cruel but we were probably 40 runs short,” he added.
But Morgan reiterated that he is a proud skipper as World T20 staged a new beginning for England – a young side, a team in the making.
“Irrespective of the result, I am proud of my players. Ben (Stokes) will be devastated for a couple of days but we share everything. We work as a unit,” said Morgan.

The skipper also praised Joe Root’s all-round show in the final.
“Joe is incredibly talented. He keeps things simple. He is also able to adapt to conditions,” he said.
