India vs Australia, 2nd Test: Murali Vijay ruled out due to shoulder injury

Murali Vijay sustained the injury whilst diving on an outstretched arm during the first Test against Australia in Pune, said BCCI.

Bengaluru: Team India opener Murali Vijay was ruled out of the second Test against Australia in Benglauru due to a shoulder injury. The Tamil Nadu batsman sustained the injury during the opening Test in Pune.

“Indian Test opener Murali Vijay has been ruled out of the 2nd Paytm Test between India and Australia in Bengaluru starting March 4th after sustaining an injury to his left shoulder,” said BCCI in a media release.

“Vijay sustained the injury whilst diving on an outstretched arm during the first Paytm Test in Pune,” added the Indian cricket board.

Vijay, who has been one of the most consistent Indian batsmen over the last couple of years, will be assessed by BCCI’s medical team.

“He will be further assessed and monitored by BCCI Medical Team over the coming days,” said BCCI.
