MS Dhoni gives up ODI, T20 captaincy, tributes pour in on social media
Mumbai: The whole country was left shocked, as Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped down as the skipper of India’s limited overs captain, on Wednesday night.
The 35-year-old has played 90 Tests, 283 ODIs, and 73 T20Is so far. While Dhoni had quit Test cricket half-way through the 2014/15 Test series in Australia, he was still playing in the shorter version of the game.
Although he has stepped down from captaincy in the shorter version of the game, he is still expected to play ODI and T20I cricket. According to reports, Dhoni is available for selection in the three ODIs and three T20Is against England, beginning with a one-day match on Sunday, January 15, in Pune.
Dhoni’s relinquishment of his captaincy threw up storm on social media, with a number of celebrities and fans posting their opinion about the latest news.
