Kane Williamson wore jersey with misspelt name

The shirt worn by Williamson was missing an i' and spelled the Black Caps skipper's name as Willamson.

Napier: New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson who struck a brilliant 73 against Bangladesh to lead his team to victory in the first Twenty20 match in Napier on Tuesday, did that with a missing ‘i’.

The shirt worn by Williamson was missing an ‘i’ and spelled his name as Willamson. The blunder was caught by the commentators during the game.

The Black Caps skipper was pretty cool about the mistake.

"I did [realise] yeah - I had to wear a shirt and someone spelt my name wrong. I'm not sure who did that. It's all good, it still felt the same," Williamson was quoted as saying by stuff.co.nz.

Williamson’s 73 off 55 balls helped New Zealand cruised to a six-wicket win. It was the batsman’s highest Twenty20 innings, one run more than his unbeaten 72 against Pakistan a year ago.

Williamson is considered as one of the best batsmen of the modern era along with Virat Kohli, Steve Smith and Joe Root.
