HCA selectors, coach resign
Hyderabad: Two members of the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s three-member senior selection committee — including its chairman — and a junior coach have tendered their resignations on Thursday.
Selectors Ramesh Kumar and K. Srinivas Chakravarthy and U-23 coach Anirudh Singh have emailed their resignations to HCA president G. Vivekanand, asking him to relieve them of their duties with immediate effect.
However, the HCA chief is yet to accept the resignations. “I will call for an emergency meeting of the Apex Council in which a decision will be taken with regard to their acceptance,” Vivek told this newspaper on late on Thursday evening.
Thursday’s developments leave Arvind Shetty as the only member on the HCA senior selection panel. Hyderabad is scheduled to face Odisha in a Col C. K. Nayudu Trophy U-23 fourth round home match at the Gymkhana Ground on Friday.
