Mumbai: Mitchell Starc, the tormenting Australian fast bowler was at it again. The bowler struck in his first over against South Africa as he dismissed Stephen Cook for a duck after Mitchell Marsh took a stunner during the first Test at WACA in Perth.
Cook was Starc’s 19th first over of an innings dismissal across all formats since the start of 2015. It’s also the most by any bowler.
The Aussie is followed by Lasith Malinga, Dawlat Zadran and David Willey. All three of them have taken seven wickets in the first over of an innings.

Amazingly, this is the third consecutive Tests in which Starc struck in the first over of an innings. He had earlier dismissed Dimuth Karunaratne in the first over of Sri Lanka’s first innings in the second Test and Dilruwan Perera in first over Sri Lanka’s second innings in Third Test.
11 of the 19 first-over dismissals have come in ODIs. One of them has come in T20s and the remaining has come in Tests.
