Dale Steyn as The Joker' terrorises cricket fans

South African pace spearhead has taken a liking to character that was played by late actor Heath Ledger in the super-hit 2008 Dark Knight.

Mumbai: South African pace spearhead Dale Steyn is fit and ready for the Proteas’ upcoming T20 series against Australia. The 32-year-old had been out of action for nearly two months due to a shoulder injury.

Considered as the fieriest bowler in the game, Steyn, who has also been included in the South African T20 squad for the upcoming ICC World T20 in India, is quite a character.

While on his way to training, Steyn, who made a successful return to competitive cricket for Western Province Cricket Club, had some cool tricks up his sleeve but not with the ball.

Steyn discovered an app on his cell phone that made him look like ‘The Joker’, a character that was played by late actor Heath Ledger in the super-hit 2008 Dark Knight directed by Christopher Nolan.

"Off to training, discovered this app, f****k it'd be mean to look like this in a game! #jokerprotea,” Steyn wrote on his Instagram handle with the picture.

It looks like Steyn has taken a liking to ‘The Joker’. The fast bowler, who was in the sub-continent last year also shared a picture on Halloween Day, where he was dressed in a white shirt with a knife in his hand impersonating the character.

Already regarded as a reputed fighter on the field tormenting the opposition with his grit pace, on a lighter note it would be interesting to see if Steyn does repeat the same antic when he steps foot on Indian soil this month. The Faf du Plessis-led side will begin their World T20 campaign against England on March 18 at Wankhede.
