Nitin snares five wickets for Hyderabad

Himachal Pradesh posted 246 for 9 in 50 overs. In reply Hyderabad were bowled out for a paltry 99 in 27.1 overs.

Hyderabad: Himachal Pradesh defeated Hyderabad by 147 runs in the second round of the BCCI men’s U-23 one-day trophy being played at Dehradun.

Himachal Pradesh posted 246 for 9 in 50 overs. In reply Hyderabad were bowled out for a paltry 99 in 27.1 overs.

Barring A. Varun Goud (29) and Rahul Buddhi (26), none of the Hyderabad batsmen could measure up to the task as Himachal bowlers Arpit Guleria (2/28), Vaibhav Arora (2/18), Ayush Jamwal (2/9) and Apoorva Walia (3/13) made life difficult for their rivals.

Earlier, Karthikeya Kak (2/57), S. Praneeth Raj (2/58) and C. Hitesh Yadav (2/25) were the bowlers who punched above their weight for Hyderabad.

Meanwhile in the Vijay Merchant Trophy being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, Pondicherry replied to Hyderabad’s 259 with 169 for 8 in 95 overs on the second day of the match.

Jashwanth Shreeram got 48 and M. Mukesh scored 31 for Pondicherry even as Nitin Sai Yadav took five wickets while conceding 37 runs.
