Virat Kohli equals Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj; eyes another Sachin Tendulkar ODI record

The India skipper breached another record as the Men in Blue came out on top in another bilateral home series victory.

Mumbai: Virat Kohli had little to do with the bat as India annihilate West Indies by 9 wickets in the fifth ODI at Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday to clinch the five-match rubber by 3-1.

Despite that, the India skipper breached another record as the Men in Blue came out on top in another bilateral home series victory.

The Delhi batsman won his seventh ODI Man of the Series award to match the likes of Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh on the unique list which is topped by none other than Sachin Tendulkar.

With a staggering average of 151, scoring 453 runs under his belt, the explosive right-hander was deservingly awarded Man of the Series as he continued his stellar run in the white-ball format.

Not only Yuvraj and Ganguly, but Kohli also stands par with the likes of Viv Richards, Ricky Ponting and Hashim Amla.

With Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar occupying the numero uno spot with 15 awards, Kohli now only finds himself behind Sanath Jayasuriya and Shaun Pollock who have eleven and nine awards to their name respectively.

Earlier in the series, Kohli surpassed Tendulkar to become the fastest ODI batsman to breach the 10,000 run-mark.
