Birmingham: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has met the members of the Indian cricket team at their team hotel in Birmingham, ahead of their crucial ICC Champions Trophy opening clash against arch-rivals Pakistan.

A number of reports have suggested that trouble is brewing between Team India skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Anil Kumble.

According to NDTV, Ganguly, who is in England as a part of the ICC commentator's team for the Champions Trophy, has visited the team at their hotel, in order to get players’ feedbacks on Kumble.

With Kumble’s contract about to come to an end after the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy in England, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had invited applications for the former Team India leggie’s post.

Although Kumble has been given a direct entry into the application process, the next head coach of the Indian cricket team will be selected by a three-member Cricket Advisory Committee comprising of former Team India greats Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Ganguly.

The Indian cricket team is currently camped in Birmingham, where they are set to square-off against Pakistan on Sunday.
