Batta maar raha hai: Virat Kohli miffed with Sunil Narine's 'illegal' bowling action?
Bengaluru: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) got back to winning ways on Tuesday as they beat Mumbai Indians by 14 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, one major incident reportedly went unnoticed by many in their previous home encounter with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday, which was won by the visitors.
It is learnt that Virat Kohli passed a few comments and made gestures while facing Sunil Narine that was not in the spirit of the game, as reported by the Pune Mirror. The RCB skipper took a dig at the ‘illegality’ of the Trinidadian spinner’s bowling action, which Nigel Llong and Anil Chaudhary were aware of.
Even Twitterati spoke about Kohli’s issues with the West Indies bowler. One such user even heard Kohli saying, “Battaa mar raha hai” to umpire Chaudhary stating Narine was throwing the ball.
Virat Kohli just said at the completion of over “Battaa mar raha hai bc” to the umpire referring to Narine #RCBvKKR

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to release a statement on Kohli’s alleged breach of conduct and as per rules, a player is not allowed to pass any open comment on the legality of the bowler’s action. The call is taken by the umpire who then reports it to the regulator, the BCCI, ICC or the MCA (in this case).
However, the two umpires and match referee Manu Nayyar did not find anything wrong with Narine’s action. Even BCCI officials did not receive any sort of complaints from the match officials.
“These things happen on the field but I am not supposed to speak on the matter to the media. You should contact the BCCI,” Nayyar said.
Earlier in March, 29-year-old Narine was reported for a suspect bowling action while playing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for the Lahore Qalandars. The Windies spin wizard has seen his action been reported several times in the past that dates back to the Champions League T20 in 2014.
