Vijay Hazare Trophy: Sandeep shines in Hyderabad win
Hyderabad: After their abysmal performance with bat, Hyderabad bowlers displayed a admirable performance to put skids under Chhattisgarh and clinch a four-run victory in a thrilling Vijay Hazare Group ‘D’ match played at Kolkata on Wednesday.
Chhattisgarh, who were chasing a modest target of 198 from 50 overs, faltered against the regular hurdles created by the Hyderabad bowlers and ultimately succumbed to pressure as they finished on the losing side with 193 for 9 in 50 overs.
Hyderabad’s bowling department comprising M. Ravi Kiran, C. V. Milind, Mehdi Hasan and the new IPL buy Md Siraj continued their fine form and picked two wickets each.
Earlier, put in to bat, Hyderabad fell apart in 47 overs. Only B. Sandeep emerged top performer with an unbeaten 70. He hit five boundaries in his 99–ball knock.
