Hugh Jackman asks Virat Kohli & co to sharpen claws' before Bengaluru Test

New Delhi: Hollywood star Hugh Jackman, who is well known for his famous portrayal of superhero Wolverine in the 'X-Men' series, has backed the Indian cricket team following their humiliating 333-run defeat to Australia in Pune Test, saying it's time for Virat Kohli and his men to 'sharpen their claws' for the remaining matches of the ongoing four-match series.

Australia bowled out India for paltry totals of 105 and 107 in the two innings of the first Test, with leg spinner Steve O'Keefe taking a total of 12 wickets as the visitors wrapped up a 333-run win inside three days.

O' Keefe's match figures of 12 wickets for 70 were in fact the best ever by a visiting spinner in India.

The loss ended India's unbeaten run of 19 matches. This was also Kohli's first defeat as captain in Test cricket at home.

In a 53-second long promotional clip for his movie 'Logan', which is releasing in India on March 3, Jackman says, "Namaste to all my fans in India!! Do you guys know that cricket is my favourite sport? And what a great journey you and your cricket team have been going through in the last few years! Your superheroes have been overpowering all the teams in the World. But my Aussie mates just got the better of your team in the first match, but only the first."

"I know the Indian Team will play bold, bolder than ever because that's what superiors do. And that's what Logan does. India, it's time to sharpen its claws," he adds.

India are now 0-1 down in the series and going into the second Test beginning Saturday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, they have a lot to think about, especially about their batting.
