Sydney: MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and the rest of the Indian cricket team are on a real high, and why not? After bouncing back from a 1-4 series loss in the ODIs to coming out on top with a series sweep against Australia Down Under, the party for the Men in Blue has still not stopped.
Just after securing a clean sweep in the T20s, Shikhar Dhawan, Ravichandran Ashwin and young ‘spunky’ lad Hardik Pandya were in a mood for some mischief, this time trolling cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle.
In the video uploaded by bcci.tv, Dhawan donned the hat of a reporter and questioned Ashwin and Pandya on the big achievement.
“The win was great. Honestly, playing these guys was great fun this series. We were really good as a team and we believed at the end of the ODI tour that we could come back and win. Hardik coming into the team has been a big influence,” Ashwin pointed out.
The spotlight then shifted to Pandya, who in his early days, used to survive on just maggi noodles. Dhawan questioned the very ‘expressive’ Pandya on the series win.
“It was amazing. I learnt so many things from this series be in the batting or bowling department. Altogether as a team, we played as a lovely family. For my first trip to Australia, it was really good, I can’t describe in words,” Pandya was left speechless.
But then came the naughtiness inside Ashwin. India’s premier off-spinner was curious enough to ask Dhawan as to why nobody saw the southpaw twirl his moustache.
Dhawan’s reply is just worth a watch, and then the big troll targeted at Harsha Bhogle, who initially started off his career as a Chemical engineer.
Earlier, Harbhajan Singh also turned reporter and interviewed the Player of the Series Virat Kohli on his stupendous performance in Australia.
The off-spinner also joked that hopefully one day he will get Kohli a plot in Jalandhar and follow Australia, who have presented him with one in Adelaide and Sydney.
Kohli, who moved to claimed No 1 spot in ICC T20I batsmen rankings, was very pleased with India’s turnaround after losing the first four ODIs.
“I am very happy we have won the series (T20Is) and it has been a great turnaround after losing the first 4 ODIs. I am very, very happy to come to Australia and a whitewash in the T20 series is a perfect beginning for our (World) T20 campaign,” he said.
Although, most of the conversation was serious, the duo also discussed who wakes up the earliest for breakfast.
Team India will be action next on February 9, when they face Sri Lanka in the first of the three T20I at Pune....
