Bengaluru: The Karnataka Premier League will take off with a swashbuckling opening ceremony ahead of the tournament-opener between Hubli Tigers and Belagavi Panthers at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday.
The ceremony, which will start at 5:45 pm, will feature superstar Puneet Rajkumar, Sharmiela Mandre, Sangeetha Raju among other glitterati.
As for the match itself, Hubli will bank on free hitting Mayank Agarwal to give the early boost while the presence of the experienced and wily Vinay Kumar will be an important factor. Praveen Dubey, David Mathias and Abhisek Reddy will also be key for the side with Nischal D capable of springing a surprise.
Meanwhile for Panthers, much of their hopes will ride on the performance of big money signing K Gowtham and Mir Kunain Abbas. Seamer Sreenath Aravind and all-rounder Stuart Binny complete the core while Shubang Hegde will be expected to make useful contribution.
