Is international comeback on the cards? Shahid Afridi answers; Watch video

T20 World champions West Indies defeated World XI by 72 runs in a charity match on Thursday night.

London: Legendary Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi played his final international match when he led ICC World XI against West Indies in a charity match here at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Thursday.

The match, which was played to raise funds for the damage that happened to cricket stadiums in West Indies due to Hurricanes Irma and Maria last year, was given an international status.

The 38-year-old was given a Guard of Honour by his teammates as he bid adieu to international cricket after 22 years.

Afridi, who made his debut for Pakistan in 1996, was asked by commentator Nasser Hussain (who was commentating from the slips) if he would make a comeback.

However, he replied to Nasser’s question by just saying, “"No that's it. You can see my situation with the injury."

Afridi finished his spell with 1/34 and scored just 11 runs in his final international match.

However, the T20 World champions West Indies defeated World XI by 72 runs in the match on Thursday night.

After the Windies had posted 199-4 from 20 overs, they bundled out Afridi’s men to 127 runs in 16.4 overs, as the Windies won with more than three overs to spare.
