When India sent Pakistan packing

The platform was set and the atmosphere was tense for one of the biggest cricketing rivalries in the world.

Hyderabad: It has been seven years since that golden moment when, on March 30, 2011, India beat Pakistan in the 2011 ICC World Cup semifinal at the I.S. Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

The platform was set and the atmosphere was tense for one of the biggest cricketing rivalries in the world. Former Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh and former Pakistan PM Yousaf Raza Gilani were present in the stadium to witness the match.

To the delight of the fans, Sachin Tendulkar put up a masterclass with the bat, scoring a 115-ball 85 as India set a target of 261 in 50 overs for Pakistan.
Had Pakistan not given four lives to Tendulkar, India would have got a lesser total.

In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 231 in 49.5 overs as India registered a 29-run victory to maintain their supremacy over Pakistan.
