Under-23 Women T-20 Super League: Andhra women beat Railways

At the end of second round, Andhra is leading the points table with eight points.

Hyderabad: The Andhra Under-23 women’s Twenty20 team defeated star-studded Railways U-23 Women team by four wickets in their Pool ‘A’ match of the of the BCCI Under-23 Women T-20 Super League tournament at the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana Ground in Mumbai on Saturday.

Electing to bat, Railways made 139/6 in 20 overs as S. Meghana (53) and skipper Sarika (53) being the main scorers for their side. For Andhra, K. Dhathri claimed 2/24.

Chasing 140 to win, Andhra completed their target in 19.3 with four wickets in hand, courtesy Ch. Jhansi Lakshmi who played an important knock of 53. Meanwhile, V. Pushpa Latha (25) and captain K. Anjali Sarvani (22) played supporting roles. For railways. S. Meghana and Anitha claimed two wickets each.

At the end of second round, Andhra is leading the points table with eight points.
Andhra will next take on Assam on April 1 and Maharashtra on April 2.

Brief scores: Railways 139/6 in 20 overs (S. Meghana 53, Sarika 53, K. Dhathri 2/24) lost to Andhra Pradesh 140/6 in 19.3 overs (Ch. Jhansi Lakshmi 53).
