Smith broke down on Thursday during an emotional press conference on his arrival in Sydney, and was confronted by his father.

In the press conference, he had said that he took full responsibility for what had happened.

“I'm the captain of the Australian team. It's on my watch and I take responsibility for what happened last Saturday,” he had said.

Tim Paine is currently leading Australia in Smith’s absence and the Aussies are busy playing the fourth Test against South Africa in Johannesburg.
