Mitchell Starc sends congratulatory message to the wrong' Virat Kohli on Twitter

While the wrong message did not really end up in any catastrophe as such, the incident did become a little embarrassing for Mitchell Starc.

Mumbai: The internet can be quite a misleading place, and the misplacement of one alphabet could lead to a tremendous catastrophe. Australia paceman Mitchell Starc found himself in such a situation, after trying to send India skipper Virat Kohli a congratulatory message.

While the wrong message did not really end up in any catastrophe as such, the incident did become a little embarrassing for Starc.

Starc, who had to pull out midway of Australia’s four Test tour of India last month, sent a harmless congratulatory direct message to Kohli on Twitter.

However, the Aussie paceman, who has played under Kohli for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, sent it to an account named “@imVKohlli”, instead of sending it to the India captain’s official Twitter accound “@imVKohli”; the extra “l” made all the difference, in this case.

The screenshot of Starc’s misplaced message took the internet by storm, garnering over 900 retweets, and more than 800 likes, as of Saturday, April 1, 2017.
