Vijay Hazare Trophy: Mayank Agarwal, Ronit More shine in Karnataka win

Bengaluru: A half century from Mayank Agarwal and a four-wicket haul from Ronit More fired Karnataka to a comfortable 73-run win over Saurashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy Group D tie in Kolkata on Tuesday.

Having won all their matches in the tournament, Karnataka is sitting at the top of the table. Batting first, Karnataka put up 201 in 47.1 overs with Agarwal (89) leading the charge with the bat while Stuart Binny’s added 31-off-34 balls in the middle. Kushang Patel picked up four wickets while CK Jani snared three for the bowling side.

In reply, Saurashtra could only put up 128 in 36.2 overs as they crumbled against Karnataka’s bowling prowess under seaming conditions. More, playing his first list A match in over a year, was the star with a 4-20 haul while Jaydev Shah top scored for the losing side with 38.
