Bumrah-Boult Test MI Batters Under Scorching Mullanpur Sun Ahead of IPL Playoffs

Bumrah kicked off the session, first seen in a long discussion with head coach Mahela Jayawardene before moving around the nets to mentor the other pacers.

The Mumbai Indians took to the field on a sweltering Wednesday afternoon at the New PCA Stadium in Mullanpur (New Chandigarh), ahead of their eliminator clash against the Gujarat Titans.

Senior pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult led the charge in practice, putting the MI batters through a stern examination on a lively green practice wicket. Their disciplined and probing spells left the batting unit searching for answers.
Bumrah kicked off the session, first seen in a long discussion with head coach Mahela Jayawardene before moving around the nets to mentor the other pacers.
Later, Boult joined him, and the duo bowled in tandem for close to 10 overs, targeting different batters before eventually turning their attention to newcomer Jonny Bairstow.
Other MI players to hit the nets included Richard Gleeson, Reece Topley, Charith Asalanka, and Karn Sharma. Bowling coach Lasith Malinga observed closely, offering hands-on guidance to the younger bowlers.
Despite a shaky start to the season, the five-time champions finished third on the points table, sparked by a win away against Delhi Capitals that reignited their campaign.
Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya—who is looking to put a forgettable last season behind him—MI now have their sights set on a record-extending sixth title, which would cement their status as the most successful franchise in the tournament’s history.
