PV Sindhu makes the cut for World Super Series Finals

While India's Rio Olympic silver medallist made it to the prestigious tournament, Saina Nehwal could not find a place in the competition.

Mumbai: India’s Rio Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu has qualified for the World Super Series Finals. This will be the first time when the shuttler will play the prestigious tournament.

While Sindhu has made the cut, Saina Nehwal, who is making steady progress following an injury, has missed out making it to the mega event which will take place in Dubai from December 14 to 18.

The tournament features top 8 shuttlers in singles and doubles from across the globe.

Sindhu, who was ranked number 16 in Destination Dubai Rankings, grabbed her place in the tournament following her stupendous run in China Open, where she clinched the title, and ended runners-up in the Hong Kong Open Super Series in the last week.

The win in China Open helped her earn 11,000 points and the finish in the final in Hong Kong powered her past compatriot Nehwal, Thailand's Porntip Buranaprasertsuk and Japan's Sayaka Sato and Minatsu Mitani.
