Hyderabad: A swanky BMW car awaits shuttler PV Sindhu, who scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman to make the Olympic Games final on Thursday.
Hyderabad District Badminton Association president V. Chamundeswarnath says he will make good on his promise and gift the posh car to Sindhu on her return.
“I had announced a BMW car to anyone from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh who would win a medal at Rio. I will honour it, and will be glad to present it to Sindhu,” he said after the Hyderabad girl sailed into the final.
Chamundi is planning to make it a grand presentation. “I am planning to get (good friend and cricket icon) Sachin Tendulkar to gift the automobile to her in Hyderabad. This is a great moment,” he said.
