Hyderabad: The Cycling Federation of India has allotted the ASMITA Khelo India Women’s Cycling State League (Track) to the Maxwell Trevor Cycling Welfare Association (MTCWA) in Hyderabad. The event will be held on August 29 and 30 in the city.
“ASMITA Women’s Cycling State League is a flagship initiative launched under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and actively supported by Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports Mansukh Mandaviya to promote women’s participation in sports. The league will be conducted in Elite Women and Junior Girls categories in accordance with the approved technical regulations and event guidelines,” Cycling Federation of India Director (Administration) V. N. Singh wrote in a letter to former cyclist Maxwell Trevor, who is the chairman of MTCWA.
“It is requested that the necessary arrangements for the said event may kindly be made for the smooth conduct, including seeking the necessary Track permissions to ensure the successful organisation of the event in a befitting manner,” the letter read.
