Not forgetting her roots, Telugu born Jaya Badiga, who was appointed as the Judge of the Sacramento County Superior Court, offered Swagatam (welcome in Telugu) and ended her speech with the Sanskrit prayer Asathoma.
Jaya is the first judge in California from the Telugu states. She is also the alumni of Osmania University.
Since 2022, she has been serving as the Court Commissioner and has even emerged as an expert in family law. She is a teacher and mentor to many.
Jaya Badiga was born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh and completed her education in Hyderabad.
She is a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science from 1991 to 1994 in OU, Hyderabad.
