Zoo Draws 24,210 Visitors In A Day

HYDERABAD: Nehru Zoological Park recorded a footfall of 24,210 visitors on Sunday, reflecting continued high turnout during the summer holiday season.
Zoo authorities said arrangements were made in advance to manage the weekend rush. Additional staff were deployed to oversee hygiene, transport, parking, drinking water, washrooms and ticketing, and an extra booking counter was opened.
Spread over 380 acres, the zoo houses more than 195 species of animals and remains one of the most visited tourist destinations in the state. According to Telangana Tourism statistics for 2025-26, it attracted over two million visitors, the highest in the state.
As part of the ‘Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika’ programme, a bird walk was conducted on Sunday. Around 70 participants from Hyderabad Birding Pals took part and recorded over 60 species of free-ranging birds within the premises.
