YouTube Lessons to Illegal Liquor: Retired Man’s Secret Wine Den Busted

Hyderabad: A retired man was allegedly caught running an illegal homemade wine unit in the city after learning wine-making techniques from YouTube tutorials.

Excise officials from the Malkajgiri District Task Force (DTF) busted the operation in Neredmet and seized 377.7 litres of homemade wine along with 502 bottles, with the total stock valued at around ₹1.5 lakh.

The accused, identified as Antony Peter, is said to have been manufacturing seven varieties of fruit wine and selling 750-ml bottles for ₹300 in areas including Neredmet, Secunderabad, NHO and Kapra.

Officials said the unit had been operating for nearly a year before it was raided. The accused has been handed over to the Kapra Excise Station for further legal action.
