Youth Pastes Posters Opposing Lover’s Marriage in Sircilla
The woman's parents lodged a complaint with Siddipet police
Karimnagar: A youth allegedly pasted posters in Thangallapalli mandal of Rajanna Sircilla district opposing the marriage of his lover, prompting the woman's parents to lodge a police complaint, police said.
The youth, a resident of Dubbaka in Siddipet district, had allegedly been in a relationship with the woman, who is from Siddipet, for the past seven years. According to the posters, the woman's parents recently arranged her marriage with another man from Thangallapalli despite her opposition.
The posters alleged that the bridegroom agreed to the marriage despite knowing about the relationship because the woman's family was offering 16 tolas of gold as dowry.
The youth allegedly pasted the posters across Thangallapalli on Tuesday night. A video of him putting up the posters later went viral on social media. Following the incident, the woman's parents lodged a complaint with Siddipet police.
