WTITC, Sharjah Government Sign Technology Partnership
WTITC and Sharjah's SRTIP sign an MoU to connect Sharjah's research ecosystem with the global Telugu tech community for innovation and growth.
The Government of Sharjah and the World Telugu Information Technology Council (WTITC) signed an MoU to connect Sharjah’s research and innovation ecosystem with the global Telugu technology community. The pact was signed at Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP) by its chief strategy officer Dr Fareed Mahmoud Abdalla Alameeri and WTITC chairman Sundeep Kumar Makthala.
The partnership will cover applied research, technology transfer, prototyping, pilot projects, university-industry engagement, knowledge exchange and technology commercialisation. It will also facilitate access to the United Arab Emirates and wider Gulf markets, according to WTITC.
The council said the agreement is intended as a two-way platform, enabling Telugu technology companies, startups, researchers and innovators to explore Sharjah for research and international expansion, while connecting Sharjah technologies and opportunities with the global Telugu network.
Makthala said the partnership would create a platform for “technology, research, talent, knowledge and market access”, while Dr Alameeri said it could bring together technology companies, researchers, universities and industry stakeholders for practical collaboration.
WTITC said it plans to engage Telugu technocrats, companies, startups, researchers, innovators and investors globally to develop a pipeline of research collaborations, pilot projects and market-access initiatives with Sharjah.
The signing was attended by WTITC advisor and former IT minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, secretary Kishore Pulluri, governing council member and Canada chapter representative Sreedhar Gonepally, and other technology and business community representatives.
