WSW Sensitises 200 Students On Combatting Online Harassment
The session focused on creating awareness about responsible digital behavior and emphasised key aspects of digital dignity.

Hyderabad: The Women Safety Wing (WSW) police organised an interactive awareness programme, ‘Digital Dignity & Respect – Online Harassment’ here on Monday, as part of the ‘Stand With Her’ campaign aimed at promoting safety and respect for women and children in digital spaces. About 200 students from various colleges participated in discussions, according to WSW Director-General Charu Sinha.
The session focused on creating awareness about responsible digital behavior and emphasised key aspects of digital dignity. Officials explained the importance of respecting individual privacy, consent, and personal boundaries online.
“Promoting positive interactions and discouraging abusive or harmful content, our officers highlighted various forms of online harassment, including cyberstalking, trolling, bullying, doxxing, and misuse of social media platforms,” DG Sinha said.
Students were educated on legal provisions available under cyber laws and women safety-related laws, and the importance of reporting incidents through appropriate channels such as cybercrime portals and police helplines. DGP directly with students, encouraging them to be responsible digital citizens and to actively intervene, report, and support victims of online abuse.
