Wrong Dose Injection Kills Class IX Student
Hospital says child was suffering from breathing difficulties due to heart condition

Warangal: A Class IX boy died on Wednesday at Balaji Nursing Home (Saraswati Hospital) in Thorrur town, Mahbubabad district, after receiving an injection that his mother alleges was overdosed. Siddarth, who had suffered from cold and fever for three days, was brought in by his mother, Nagarani, for treatment. Shortly after the doctor administered the injection, his condition rapidly deteriorated, and he succumbed.
Distraught, the boy’s family staged a protest outside the hospital, accusing the doctor of administering an adult dosage and assaulting him in their grief.
Meanwhile, the hospital management maintained that Siddarth, who has a congenital heart disorder and was under regular treatment at the facility, received a standard dose appropriate for his condition.
By examining the boy, the hospital staff has administered him a normal dose of injection which is typically given to such patients. The doctor who is a well-experienced MD had assessed the situation before administering the injection. The hospital emphasised that the child had been suffering from breathing difficulties due to his heart condition and the administration of the injection was in line with regular medical procedures, they added.
Police have intervened to restore order and launched an investigation into the incident.
